Organised by the European Commission in association with the Irish Presidency of the European Union, the event, which was held in Dublin (Ireland), on April 16-17 2013, was and attended by more than 400 participants from Europe, North America, Australia and Asia. The aim of the conference was to gather stakeholders active in the rare disease area from across the globe. In addition to a high-level programme taking stock of advances toward IRDiRC goals, it provided ample opportunities for networking with the international rare disease community. A poster illustrating the contents of the DEEP project was presented.
